Hi Pat,

I admit that I've been lurking behind the scenes more lately...answering emails, delegating tasks and keeping up with the database. But I will be sending out a newsletter this weekend to the nearly 1000 alumni we have on our email list (way to go Class Reps!). I've needed some time to gather enough "news" to write one. I'll also be sending a link to the treasurer's report for members to review.

In addition to the the day-to-day tasks, I've been preparing for what I hope will be a smooth transition as we welcome a new executive board. The Association will be holding elections in August for all positions and I hope some new leadership emerges. I've been leading the new Association for two years and have been active in building the online community for over 13 years so I'm ready to take a step back. It's work, but it's also very rewarding. If you're reading this, I hope you will consider running for an office.

On the home front, I've been making some changes in my "real" job. Last week I gave notice to Credit Suisse because I will be starting a new job on June 11th. It's going to be a doozy: Web Creative Director for Lenovo (www.lenovo.com). The job represents the culmination of everything I've been working towards for 30 years in advertising and interactive design so I'm really thrilled. Lenovo is preparing to enter the consumer market with a new line of laptops and workstations that will rival Apple so, despite being a Mac enthusiast, I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and help fight for some market share. I'm also pleased to be joining a company that heavily sponsors the summer Olympics.

If I ever have the opportunity to visit the offices in China, I'll definitely take a side trip to Okinawa.

Again, sorry to have fallen off the radar lately. I'll work on making a little more noise between now and August, new job and all.

Best,
Sherry
