If you have an address in San Antonio you can switch your Tri Care Prime to a PCM there (your husband's will remain the same). Then you have that PCM give you the referral to the surgeon that you want. This will mean that you need to go there and have the baby seen and since you already have a surgeon in mind you will obviously ask for the referral to go to him. After the baby has his surgery then you go back to Colorado and switch your Tri Care back to west. Now if you do not want to do that you can switch your tri care to Standard for the baby. Then you can take him anywhere you chose the doctor does not have to be "in network" and you will have to pay the first 1000 of medical costs. This is one thousand each fiscal year. If you can do that it may be the easiest route. The way that tri care works is that each region is responisble for medical care in their own region only so this is probably why if you are out of THEIR network region they will only agree to 50 percent. If your baby were under 60 days old tri care has to pay 100 percent no matter where you take him. Still call me if you need! You have options.
